The Llangollen Railway has announced that they will be welcoming steam locomotive No. 4555 in 2026.

The visit to the Small Prairie will be for their steam gala, which will be held between the 10th and 12th April 2026.

The locomotive visits thanks to the Dartmouth Steam Railway as well as the East Somerset Railway.

4555, which was built in 1924, has history in North Wales, as it hauled the Talyllyn Railway AGM Special with 7827 ‘Lydham Manor’ and travelled along the Llangollen and Corwen Railway to Barmouth.

A recreation of this train will be one of the highlights of the gala, with an intensive timetable that builds on the success of the 2025 event.

4555 will join 7754, 3802 and D9525 at the event.

Tickets will be on sale soon.
