Yesterday, Tuesday, 9th December, Dovetail Games released the long-awaited Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn Add-on for Train Sim World 6; its the first German route Add-on .

Set in the year 2000, the route has a DB BR 140 locomotive and a Wittenberger Steuerwagen with train faults and announcements. The 51 km route between Stuttgart and Heilbronn also features an accurate representation of Stuttgart Hbf, the large Kornwestheim freight yard, and multiple lineside industries.

A comprehensive timetable includes ICE, IC, S-Bahn and night/auto traffic, freight trains hauled by a BR 140, and shunting operations with a BR 363.

Passenger services operate primarily to a base service pattern, with SE and RE stopping trains between Stuttgart and Heilbronn. Freight services operate between Kornwestheim and Heilbronn before exiting off the map at Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Other services include ICE 1 and ICE 3 trains from Kassel-Würzburg, ICE-T trains from Frankfurt-Fulda, and IC trains from the original DB BR 101 Add-on. There are also auto and nachtzug (car and night) trains from Bremen-Oldenburg and Linke Rheinstrecke, DB BR 218 services with Linke Rheinstrecke coaches, and AI DMU services from Niddertalbahn, as well as ÖBB EC AI services from Semmeringbahn and BR 423 services from Frankfurt S-Bahn.

More gameplay can be unlocked by using layered content from previous Train Sim World Add-ons, including BR 111 Dosto and BR 425 services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn, mixed freight traffic from Ruhr Sieg Nord, and shunting operations with a BR 294 locomotive from the Train Sim World 6: Deluxe and Special Editions.

Players will notice there are gaps in the timetable; these are to accommodate the upcoming release of BR 420 services.

Coinciding with the new Add-on, ONE shipping containers will no longer appear in the cnsist of freight trains.

The Frankenbahn: Stuttgart – Heilbronn Add-on for Train Sim World 6 is available now for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 from Epic Games Store and Steam for £29.99.

Continuing with the global theme, in November, Dovetail Games released an Add-on for Santa Fe on the Cajon Pass in southern California.
