Peak Rail has announced a new addition to their home fleet for the 2026 season.

2183 WPR No. 15 Earl David will be based at the heritage railway, which runs from Matlock to Rowsley South, and will help share the load with other steam locomotives.

Earl David has already arrived at the railway, joining the home fleet of S102 ‘Cathryn’, Peckett 2000 and 750 ‘Waleswood’.

The locomotive was built in 1943 and is of a design by Hunslet Engine Company but was built by Andrew Barclay for the MoD.

Will you be seeing the locomotive next season? Let us know in the comments below.
