Network Rail is currently assessing damage to the railway after a burst water main caused severe flooding at Rye House station in Hertfordshire.

All lines have been closed by the flooding, and Greater Anglia has advised passengers not to travel between Broxbourne and Hertford East.

Network Rail say that the flooding has been caused by a broken sewer pipe nearby and has damaged the station and railway equipment.

Engineers are on site to complete the repairs, but this cant take place until the water has receded.
