The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway have been in the festive spirit with their Santa Specials.
This year, they started the festivities with their Quiet Santa Specials, which allow those with sensory needs to still enjoy the event.
Developed with Calvert Devon, the specials involve all the same activities as the standard specials, but with no flashing lights and less noise.
They’ve had some very positive feedback, highlighting how important events like this are and how beneficial their first year hosting a Quiet Santa has been.
Tickets for the Santa Specials can still be booked on their website until Christmas Eve.
Some of the feedback received reads:
“My little sister was able to be herself and was able to actually enjoy herself unlike other Christmas events where she gets overwhelmed. She also felt happy that she could be with other similar children.”
“Came to your Santa event yesterday and I was so impressed with how well everyone was my daughter has autism and for the first time ever felt so relaxed and excited about seeing Santa.”
“We had a great visit despite the horizontal rain! Was a great set up and ideal for our kids who can struggle when it is really busy. As usual all staff and volunteers super friendly and inclusive.”
“Thank you so much for a wonderful time. The kids absolutely loved it.”
