Over the festive period, upgrades will take place in West Yorkshire, disrupting services.
From the 23rd December until the 27th December, Mirfield Station will be closed to allow improvements to be carried out safely.
The station will see two new platforms and better accessibility.
This improvement is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrades taking place in the area, which will also see the track realigned through the station and new signalling equipment installed.
Follow-up work will also take place to install better lighting and drainage in the car park and to improve the road underneath the station road bridge, which was recently improved.

During the follow-up work, platform 3 and the newly installed platforms 1 and 2 will remain open.
Passengers are advised to plan ahead and check journeys online.
“These upgrades form a pivotal part of our wider programme with it being a key location on our route, and I’d like to thank customers and local residents for their support and understanding as this work is undertaken.
“The festive period is one of the quietest times on the railway, meaning we can carry out such important work with less disruption than usual.
“Mirfield’s upgrade is almost complete, and we’re excited to reveal the major upgrade of the town’s station which will help unlock faster, more frequent trains with more seats travel through the area and beyond.”
