Back in the spring, Network Rail invested £9.9 million to transform Keighley station.
The project saw the refurbishment of the station’s forecourt, waiting room, footbridges, frontage, drainage and masonry.
They also repaired the ramps and roof, with extensive structural work carried out, which allowed the western elevation link bridge to reopen.

Not only did they manage to keep the station open during the repairs, but they have also preserved the grade II-listed station’s heritage.
The 1885-built station is managed by Northern and is now shortlisted in the National Railway Heritage Awards 2025.

The winners will be announced on the 3rd December in London, where the awards will be announced byRail Minister Lord Hendy.
“We’re honoured to be shortlisted for this award. The restoration of Keighley station has been a true team effort, and we’re proud to have delivered a project that respects the station’s heritage while improving the journey experience for today’s passengers.”
