Bath’s Christmas Markets run from the 27th November until the 14th December, and Great Western Railway (GWR) is helping people get there.
Starting on Saturday, GWR will be running a train every five minutes, providing an additional 21 trains and 7,550 extra seats on top of normal Saturday service.
There will be 11 extra services before 1 pm to the market, and 10 extra trains after 4 pm to get passengers back home.
From 4 pm, 55 trains will depart, running every five minutes; however, a queuing system will be in place to ensure people remain safe.
Passengers wanting to avoid crowded trains should travel before 10 am and after 8pm or travel on weekdays instead of weekends.
“Bath’s Christmas Market is absolutely magical, and we’re thrilled to welcome thousands of visitors to the city. We’re running as many trains as we can, but with the popularity of the market some queuing is inevitable at the busiest times.
“Our friendly staff will be on hand to keep everyone moving safely, and for a more comfortable journey we’d encourage visitors to travel outside peak hours if it’s possible.
“This year we’re delighted to welcome back Bath Abbey Choir on Friday 5 December from 1800, spreading Christmas cheer outside the station while people queue. It’s all part of making the journey as festive as the destination!”
