This weekend, services will be affected between Nottingham and Lincoln while drainage work is carried out at Lowdham station.
As part of an investment of £300,000, Network Rail will be replacing equipment which is at the end of its life span, installing 400 metres of drainage pipe and 16 water management chambers.
The work will help to prevent flooding in the area and the resulting damage and disruptions.
Services on the Saturday will be affected in the evening, with Sunday affected all day. Buses will replace the services affected between Newark Castle and Nottingham.
Passengers and motorists are advised to check before they travel online.
“Renewing the drainage helps keep people and freight safe by extending the life of the track. It also means smoother, more reliable journeys and reduces the need for maintenance in the future.
“We’re sorry to anyone whose journey is affected as we carry out this drainage work, which will bring clear benefits for everyone who uses or travels through Lowdham station.”
Dan Matthews, Network Rail operations director
