Northern has released information on their timetable changes ahead of the national timetable change on the 14th December.

The changes will bring improvements across the network, with areas like the North East seeing new routes and faster journeys that aim to be more reliable.

Fast services, semi-fast and services which stop at more stations are being launched across the North East, North West, Yorkshire, Humberside and East Midlands.

Northern has advised that passengers check before they travel, as the timetable changes, the details of which can be checked on journey planners already.

Passengers can view the changes through the Northern app and website and through National Rail.

A full list of the changes can be viewed on their website.

Passengers are also reminded that work will be taking place over Christmas and New Year, which will see some closures and services affected s part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade.

“The upcoming timetable changes reflect our focus on improving connectivity, strengthening reliability and offering more convenient services across the North of England.

“We are pleased to be able to offer later trains in the evening following customer feedback on some of our routes, and extra trains during peak times on others.

“I’d urge customers to check their journeys in advance as there will be some significant changes in place, and particularly during the December engineering period.”

    1. I agree 100% late, delayed and then cancelled. I regularly get home or to work at least 15mins late, often four or five days per week.
I have a travel pass and the delay repay compensation is pointless claiming a partial refund.
Two years to retirement and I can’t wait.
So let’s see how this goes and good luck with your commute.
