The new timetable for the London Overground Weaver Line is due to commence on Sunday, the 14th of December and will feature newly timed trains across the whole line.

In an attempt to ease overcrowding and run trains on time to and from Enfield Town and Cheshunt during peak times, the frequency of the service on the Weaver Line will be slightly amended to better connect with other overground and tube services at the busiest station on the route, Seven Sisters.

During the morning rush hour, northbound trains from Severn Sisters will run every 6 – 15 minutes, increasing to 6 – 9 minutes during the busiest part of the rush hour. Southbound services will run every 8, 10 and 12 minutes.

In the evening rush hour, a similar tactic will be used, with northbound trains running every 7 – 13 minutes, increasing to every 7 – 10 minutes at the peak of service. Southbound trains will run every 7, 9 and 14 minutes.

These changes will enable trains heading along the branch to Enfield Town to run every 10 – 12 minutes Northbound, and every 12 – 18 minutes Southbound in the mornings. The frequency of service along the Branch in the Evening rush hour will see trains every 13 – 17 minutes between Edmonton Green and Enfield Town, with services running every 14 – 16 minutes heading in the southerly direction.

The first trains of the day will also be amended to leave slightly earlier from Chingford and Cheshunt due to the changes. An additional last train of the day from Enfield Town to London Liverpool Street will depart at 00:16 on Mondays to Thursdays only.

Overground services on the Cheshunt Line will still run every 30 minutes, but will be retimed.

The new timetables can be viewed on the TfL Go app and TfL website. They will be published and displayed at stations from the first week of December.

Over Christmas, services on the Weaver Line will be disrupted between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, while Network Rail undertakes engineering works at Liverpool Street. All trains on the Weaver Line will start and terminate at London Fields.

“We’re making these changes to help customers travel more comfortably through one of the busiest parts of the network. By better matching capacity and demand at Seven Sisters, we can minimise crowding and improve reliability across the line. We encourage everyone to check the new timetable before travelling from 14 December.”

David Thomas, TfL’s Head of Concession for London Overground
