Following on from its announcement of its Christmas wagon models, Dapol has issued an update on its latest batch of OO gauge Class 59 diesels.

All the artworks for the numerous liveries to be applied to the models have been completed, and the first decorated samples have recently arrived at Dapol.

The design team have approved them for shipping, and photographs of the recently arrived models will appear on Dapol’s website and social media pages in the very near future.

A new model in Hanson Livery has also been announced, complementing the others already making their way over to Britain and is expected to arrive at Dapol just in time for Christmas.

This will make the dispatch of pre-order models to model shops and individuals very tight before the Christmas post cut-off point.

Customers and stockists of the Class 59 diesels can expect to receive their models in early January.

One of the models, 4D-005-010 Aggregate Industries Class 59 59002, was initially due to be released as a Kernow Model Railway exclusive model, but due to low interest, this model will now be part of Dapol’s general release. These models will arrive in the UK in late December / Early January.

A PLUX22 decoder will now feature in every OO gauge class 59. Dapol has also announced that the sound-only models will have the smoke-fitted option; the DCC-only models will no longer have the smoke-fitted option.

Dapol says it will honour customers who have pre-ordered and paid the original RRP for their models before 1st October 2025, since this date, the RRP of the models has increased.
