This weekend, Network Rail will be installing new track and sleepers, which will affect services between Skegness and the East Midlands.

On both the 8th and 9th November, buses will replace trains between Nottingham/Grantham and Sleaford.

A total of 1.6 kilometres of track will be installed at Ancaster as part of a £1.3 million investment to improve passenger journeys.

They will install sleepers at Scarrington Lane level crossing as well.

Trains will run between Nottingham and Grantham and Skegness and Sleaford only on Saturday, with services operating between Sleaford and Skegness only on Sunday.

Service information can be checked online.

“We recommend customers planning to travel to Skegness on either Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 November check their journey in advance, as rail replacement buses will be in place between Nottingham, Grantham and Sleaford and journeys will take longer than usual.

“On Sunday 9 November, there will also be a revised timetable between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich.

“This work by Network Rail will help improve the reliability of our services in the long term, and we’d like to thank our customers for their patience while it takes place.”

Philippa Cresswell, EMR customer experience director
