The Royal British Legion has expressed heartfelt thanks to the model railway community for its generous support for the legion as the country honoured Remembrance Day.

Money raised for the Royal British Legion came from the sale to modellers across the country of Dapol’s VE & VJ Day-liveried wagons in N, OO, and O Gauge, which was accompanied by generous donations to the Royal British Legion.

On Wednesday, 12th November, representatives from the Royal British Legion visited the Dapol premises at Chirk near Wrexham in North Wales to receive a cheque for the impressive total of £11,025.50 raised by modellers from the sale of the VE and VJ Day-liveried wagons.

A Dapol representative expressed the company’s heartfelt thanks to all modellers for their kindness in purchasing the models.

The cause was especially meaningful, as several Dapol staff members have either served in or have close family members who have served in the Armed Forces.

The Royal British Legion will use the money raised towards supporting our servicemen and women, and their families.

Dapol is no stranger to releasing wagons with special liveries, as it recently joined in the Christmas spirit with the release of wagons adorned with Christmas-themed advertising. The company also recently announced the arrival of OO gauge Class 59 diesels.
