Alstom has signed a new agreement worth £66m with South Western Railway to support the operation of their new Class 701 Arterio trains.
The £66m Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement will run for four and a half years.
The agreement will see Alstom provide support for the 750 vehicles, which make up the 60 ten-car and 30 five-car units.
The Alstom provision will be delivered by a team of 40 staff at both Wimbledon Traincare Depot and Basingstoke Rail Operations Centre.

“This new agreement with South Western Railway marks a significant milestone in our long-standing partnership. We’re proud to continue supporting the Arterio fleet with our technical expertise and predictive maintenance capabilities. Our dedicated team is committed to ensuring these Alstom-built trains deliver the highest standards of performance and reliability for fare-paying passengers across London and South West England.”
