The World Cup of Stations 2025 is entering its final stage, with 20 stations left in the running for Most Life-Changing Station.

The competition, which is hosted by the Rail Delivery Group, is a public-voted award that highlights each station’s history.

Voting for this phase opens today (13th October) and closes on the 17th October at 11:59 pm.

330 entries were received in the nominations phase of the competition, with a judging panel selecting just 20 standout stations.

The competition is helping to celebrate Railway 200 as it brings attention to the stories behind the stations and how much they’ve changed and brought communities together.

The stations which can be voted for include:

  • Abergynolwyn
  • Ashington
  • Bristol Temple Meads
  • Cambridge
  • Chesterfield
  • Exeter St David’s
  • Liverpool Lime Street
  • London Marylebone
  • London Paddington

Votes can be placed online.

“As we celebrate 200 years of rail history, it’s the stories behind the stations that remind us of their enduring value — connecting towns, people and possibilities.

“These 20 stations represent the heart and soul of what makes Britain’s railways extraordinary. From places that have sparked hope, to those that have held communities together — this is your chance to vote for the station that has really changed lives.”

Jacqueline Starr, Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Rail Delivery Group
