Geminin Trains has partnered with Siemens and Rock Rail for its new trains that will run from London to Paris, Brussels and Cologne.
The new service is to be co-branded with Uber and Siemens will supply Velaro Novo trains for the service.
Gemini is waiting for a decision from the ORR on its application for space at Temple Mills Maintenance Depot.
Gemini will operate the service, with Uber co-branding the operator and will see trains operate from the new terminal at Stratford International.
Gemini also says that tickets can be booked through the Uber app as part of the collaboration.
CEO of Gemini Trains Adrian Quine said: “Our collaboration with Uber, Siemens and Rock Rail creates a powerful partnership as we move towards our goal of running regular high quality and competitively priced trains connecting the UK to France, Belgium and for the first time ever, Germany. This is great news for UK jobs, the economy and of course passengers”.
Sambit Banerjee, Joint CEO Siemens Mobility, UKI said: “We’re delighted to be working with Gemini, Rock and Uber on these proposals which could see our state-of-the-art Velaro Novo trains transform rail travel for people travelling between the UK and Europe.
