Next week, major upgrades will be taking place on 4.5 miles of track between Achnashellach and Strathcarron.
The work will be improving the long-term reliability of the route; however, in order for it to take place, no trains can run between Dingwall and Kyle of Lochalsh.
The work begins on the 19th October and will run for three weeks until the 10th November.
ScotRail will be running an amended service which will operate between Inverness and Dingwall, calling at Beauly, Muir of Ord, and Conon Bridge.
Between Inverness and Stromeferry, buses will replace services, and a shuttle bus will connect Stromeferry, Duncraig, Plockton, Duirinish, and Kyle of Lochalsh.
During the closure, engineers will be inspecting bridges and assessing drainage improvements to help prevent future flood risks.
“While our colleagues at Network Rail deliver this essential work, our priority is keeping customers moving and ensuring they can continue to travel with confidence.
“We know how important the Kyle line is to the communities it serves, and the tourist industry in the region.
“Our rail replacement plan will ensure customers can still travel reliably throughout the works.
“We’re grateful to customers for their patience and understanding when these vital improvements take place and look forward to welcoming them back on the line when the work is complete.”
Mark Ilderton, ScotRail Service Delivery Director
