Leeds Light Night takes place on the 22nd and 23rd October, and Northern is helping people to experience the magic with a special fare.

They are offering a £2 train fare into the city to see the event, celebrating its 20th year.

The city is transformed into an open gallery filled with bright lights and colour.

This year’s theme is ‘Landmarks’ and will see some of Leeds’ recognisable buildings illuminated in immersive displays.

The reduced fare covers journeys from stations including Halifax, Skipton, Wakefield and York.

Tickets can be bought online, along with a complete list of stations the ticket is valid from.

“Light Night is one of the highlights of the year for Leeds, with the festival brightening up our autumn evenings for an incredible twenty years now.

“With trains running late into the evening, we’re urging people to leave the car at home and enjoy an affordable, sustainable journey to the festival – it’s the perfect opportunity to make a night of it.”

Alex Hornby, commercial and customer director for Northern
