Engineers have been working away to complete a £1.4 million programme on the Conwy Valley Line.
The line reopened between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction this morning (27th October), following around a month of work.
Engineers have worked to clear vegetation and high-risk trees along 54 miles of track.
This work will help the line keep running in extreme weather and prevent vegetation from blocking the line.

There is also a new walkway for workers, which will allow them to carry out upgrades safely.
They also trialled a new rail treatment, developed with Interflon and Irish Rail, that uses a gel solution to break down leaves and remains effective for 7 days.
The work will help to prevent the number of closures as a result of storms.
“We’re extremely pleased to have completed this major piece of resilience work and reopened the Conwy Valley line to passengers on time.
“These improvements will make a real difference to the reliability of services during the autumn and winter months, protecting the line from future storm damage and keeping communities connected across North Wales.”
Nick Millington, route director at Network Rail Wales & Borders
