Network Rail is urging passengers to check before travelling as engineers complete engineering work over six days.

On the 18th and 19th October, part of Bristo West Junction, which allows trains to swap lines to and from the West Country, is being replaced.

A four day track renewal project will then take place between 27th and 30th October which will see track replaced through St Anne’s Tunnel.

Maintenance teams will also complete track, drainage and signal work at a number of locations, including Parson Street and Flax Bourton Tunnel.

Great Western Railway and CrossCountry services will be affected and passengers are asked to check before travelling.

Mark Parker, lead portfolio manager for Network Rail, said: “Taking time to complete these upgrades is vital to ensure the continued safe and reliable running of the railway.

“As ever, we are working closely with maintenance and drainage teams to get as much done as possible alongside our track replacements. However, we appreciate it means disruption to passengers and residents while this work is completed and thank them for their patience.”
