Next month, Network Rail will be undertaking some work in Dorset to improve the Poole to Dorchester line.
They will be working to strengthen an embankment in Hamworthy and working on drainage at Pole sidings.
The area has been prone to flooding, and this work will improve reliability in the long term.
Buses are set to replace trains between the 15th and 21st November, so passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
Journeys between Bournemouth and Dorchester South will have buses in place on the 15th and 16th.
On the 17th to 21st, buses replace trains between Poole and Dorchester South
Additionally, they will be working to renew the wheel timbers on the River Frome Bridge near Wool. The existing timbers will be replaced with Fibre-reinforced Foamed Urethane (FFU).
During this time, they will be carrying out improvements to the footbridge at Wool station.
Customers can check how their journeys will be affected online, with further information about the work available here.
“We’re sorry for the disruption to passengers while we carry out this work, but it’s essential to keep services running safely and reliably. Our teams will be working around the clock to strengthen key parts of the railway and improve drainage in the area, helping to make the line more resilient in the years ahead.”

Silly me, I thought perhaps network rail were going to fix the signals which seem ro go wrong every day particularly at Brockenhurst. Trains are nearly always late or canceĺled between Bmouth and Dorchester.
