Ahead of this year’s Remembrance Day, the rail industry is providing free travel for military personnel and veterans so they can attend the commemorations.
There will be numerous Services of Remembrance across the country on the 9th November, and those who have served will be able to attend for free.
This offer allows for travel from any London Terminal station on the 8th or 9th November, with returns valid on the 9th only.
Those attending services outside of London will be able to travel on the 9th November only to gain access to free travel.
Servicing military personnel in uniform or carrying a current MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card can access the offer.

For veterans, use of a Veterans Railcard, Veterans Oyster card, MOD-issued Veterans ID, or other appropriate proof of service can be used to access the offer.
There will also be an offer of free travel for Royal British Legion volunteers and collectors who will be travelling to the London Poppy Day on the 30th October, with free travel available one day either side of the event to any London Terminal.
“As we celebrate 200 years of rail, it is only right that the industry reflects on the vital role it played in our nation’s war efforts. The railway has always been closely connected to Remembrance, with so many rail workers themselves having given their lives during the World Wars. Today, we are proud to continue that connection by helping serving personnel, veterans, and volunteers attend the services and events that mean so much to them.”
