Ahead of the Oxford Half Marathon on the 12th October, Great Western Railway will be adding additional services to help people get to and from the event.
There will be three additional services as part of the Parl and Train promotion, which is running for this event.
The services will leave Didcot Parkway at 6:48 am, 7:30 am, and 8 am.
The extra services mean that there are an additional 1,950 seats available.
Thirteen thousand runners are signed up to the sold-out event, who will line up on Mandsfield Road ahead of starting at 9:30 am.
“We’re delighted to provide these additional trains for participants and their supporters. The Oxford Half Marathon is always extremely popular and we’re pleased to be helping runners get to the start line.
“Our car park vending machines at Didcot Parkway will be in high demand, so please do allow sufficient time to pay and then board your train or, even better, pay for your car park and train tickets in advance.
“No bikes are permitted on these additional services and you should allow around 15 minutes’ walking time to get from Oxford station to the start line.”
GWR Station Manager for Oxford, Didcot Parkway & the North Cotswold Area, Billy White
