UK Railtours has announced a special trip in December which will see 60103 Flying Scotsman return to mainline passenger service.

In association with the Science Museum Group, DB Cargo and Northern Steam Operations, the trip will see Flying Scotsman head to Newcastle on the 14th December.

The trip will start at Finsbury Park with a DB Cargo Class 67 and Eastern Rail Services Mark 3 coaches.

The train will pick up at Potters Bar, Stevenage and Peterborough on its way to York, where Flying Scotsman will join the train.

Back on its home ground, Flying Scotsman will take passengers via the ECML to Newcastle, which will have a Christmas Market full of local traders.

After the break, Flying Scotsman will take passengers back to York, where the Class 67 will take passengers back home via the East Coast Main Line.

Tickets for the train cost £175 for standard class and £275 for 1st class, with junior tickets also available.

You can book your tickets via the UK Railtours website.
