Journeys will be affected between the East Midlands and Skegness, while engineering takes place over one weekend in November.
On the 8th and 9th of November, Network Rail will be installing new track and sleepers, meaning that buses will replace trains.
The replacement buses will run between Nottingham/Grantham and Sleaford.
1.6km of new track will be installed at Ancaster, which will help make journeys more reliable. The work makes up part of a £1.3 million investment that will see the jointed rail replaced with continuous welded rail.
Sleepers will be replaced at Scarrington Lane level crossing in Nottinghamshire.
Services between Nottingham and Skegness will operate between Nottingham and Grantham, and between Sleaford and Skegness only on the Saturday, with buses making up the missing section of the journey.
On Sunday, services between Nottingham and Skegness will operate between Sleaford and Skegness only.
“We’re investing in the long-term reliability of the railway by upgrading the track and replacing sleepers with more sustainable materials. These improvements will help deliver smoother, more dependable journeys for passengers.
“We’re sorry for the disruption caused and grateful for everyone’s patience while we carry out this important work.”
Dan Matthews, Network Rail operations director
