CrossCountry says that they will run a normal timetable this Saturday, 1st November, following the suspension of planned RMT strike action.

The train operator says its network will be busy due to planned engineering work and pre-Christmas events.

The following routes will now have a service:

  • Bristol, Plymouth and Penzance
  • Newton Abbot and Paignton
  • Edinburgh and Glasgow or Aberdeen
  • Derby and Nottingham
  • Birmingham to Leicester, Peterborough, Cambridge and Stansted Airport

Engineering work will cause issues for passengers between:

  • Leeds and Darlington
  • Birmingham International and Birmingham New Street
  • Ely and Cambridge

CrossCountry’s Managing Director, Shiona Rolfe, said: “We are pleased that RMT has suspended planned strike action this Saturday 1 November, and we look forward to welcoming passengers on board. Thanks must also go to colleagues who have worked tirelessly to reinstate a full timetable on Saturday, to make sure people can get to where they need to be.

“Engineering work on parts of the network will still mean some changes to journeys – if you’re planning to travel this Saturday, please check your journey before setting off.”
