From the 3rd November until the 7th November, passengers are being reminded to check before they travel while the final stage of engineering work for the Mid Cornwall Metro (MCM) takes place.
Testing for a new digital system and second platform at Newquay will be brought into use, meaning that those travelling between Newquay and Par will have replacement buses in place.
Replacement buses will run from Newquay to St Austell, with a connecting train from St Austell to Par and vice versa.
This will allow for the 2026 start of hourly trains between Par and Newquay, with direct trains from Newquay to Falmouth to follow.
Passengers can plan their journeys online.
“We’re delighted to be delivering the final stage of work required for the Mid Cornwall Metro, which will transform rail services in the area and provide better connectivity for the people of Cornwall.
“I’d like to thank passengers for their patience in advance, and remind them to please check before travelling next week as there will be changes to services as we complete this work.”
