After a 30-day closure, Huddersfield station will reopen on the 29th September.
The closure was a result of ongoing work by the Transpennine Route Upgrade, which has seen platforms rebuilt and extended to allow for longer services in the future.
It is important to note that only platforms 1, 2, and 3 will be open from the 29th, so there will be numerous platform alterations and some services will have to remain as replacement buses.
Stage two of the upgrade will continue in a sectioned-off area of the station, which will allow the construction of platforms, track, and canopy to be completed.
The station upgrades are set to be complete in early 2027.
Those travelling should plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys, which should be checked online.
“We’re looking forward to reopening Huddersfield station at the end of this month, however, we know customers will notice some changes. This includes trains arriving/departing from different platforms and some temporary service alterations.
“We want to thank customers for their patience as we continue this once-in-a-generation investment and would encourage anyone travelling through the area to plan their journey ahead of time.”
