Siemens Mobility recently celebrated five generations of family service at its Chippenham facility.
Miggie Orledge, 91, was a previous employee and returned to Chippenham for a tour with her son Kevin, also a former employee and her grandson Alex, who is a current employee.
Five generations of Miggie’s family have made contributions to the site over the past 125 years.
Miggie began her work at Chippenham in 1965, originally working in semiconductors before moving to the signals and testing department.
During her special tour, she reconnected with former colleagues and witnessed Alex demonstrate his work within the pre-wire department.

To commemorate the visit, a photograph of Miggie’s last day was recreated, with current team members and those who have since retired.
In one case where a former colleague couldn’t join, the granddaughter stepped in to represent the colleague.
“I started here over ten years ago, so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to show my grandmother around. It is truly special knowing that the work we do in Chippenham helps transform passenger journeys for millions of people across the UK and around the world.”
Alex Orledge, IRSE Licensed Tester at Siemens Mobility
