After the previous attempt being hampered by paperwork issues, the Stanier Mogul Fund has said that they expect 13268 to be part of a convoy heading to Derby Litchurch Lane today.
The convoy consists of 50007, 40106, 4930 Hagley Hall, 13268 and a Class 108 DMU.
It is 25 years since 13268 has been out on the national network and 40 years for 4930. Whilst they aren’t mainline registered, the two steam locos will be in light steam for lubrication purposes only.
The locomotives will be passing through Kidderminster (10:29), Rowley Regis (11:24), Walsall (12:44), Tamworth (13:51), Burton-on-Trent (14:08) on their way to Derby.

Saw this today at Burton-on-Trent. Such a wonderful line up!
I still think that The Greatest Gathering is a big con,
Lets not forget this is a charity event in the aid of Dementia
Yes but the organisers should have done a deal with EMR so that the latter could have sold combined rail and admission tickets, including from London St. Pancras. The only facility offered to people from the London area is an over-priced UKR excursion which is fully booked. Because this excursion starts and finishes at Paddington, the longer route means that the starting and finishing times are such that it is impossible to connect into and out of the excursion if one lives south of London. Even if one could connect into this excursion, the combined cost of the railtour fare, plus the add-on cost of admission to the event,, plus the fare by service train to and from London, makes a total cost of around £200, which does seem rather steep just for a day out. Hence I am not best pleased with The Greatest Gathering as it excludes those of us from down south. I am also displeased with UKR as that organisation does seem to have lost its way in recent times. It hurts me to say that as I have had some lovely days out in the past with UKR and its predecessor organisation HRT. Nevertheless, I do hope that this year’s event raises a good sum for its nominated charity.
