A new subway under the railway is being built to help access to Wymondham town centre, and as part of this work, the buses will replace trains on three days next month.
The subway is being constructed by housing developers, Taylor Wimpey and Vistry, as part of planned growth in South Wymondham.
On the 5th, 6th and 7th July, engineers will remove the railway track before excavating the ground underneath.
A crane will then be used to lift concrete sections into place.
The closure will affect trains between Norwich and Cambridge / Stansted Airport, as well as trains between Norwich and Nottingham / Liverpool Lime Street.
Passengers should check with Greater Anglia and East Midlands Railway for the latest travel advice.
Network Rail says that they will also carry out other maintenance work elsewhere on the line whilst the closure is in place.
“We support external projects that will benefit our local communities wherever we can, and the new subway will make a real difference to Wymondham. We’re really sorry that passengers will face disruption in July, including on a working day, but it’s fundamental to allow this scheme to move forward.”
