As part of the Railway 200 celebrations, Edinburgh Waverley is home to an exhibition showcasing projects that have transformed the railways.

It takes readers on a journey through 40 restoration projects that have been successful in preserving railway heritage.

It highlights how preservation gives new life to structures, allowing them to be used for decades longer.

Alongside Railway 200, the exhibition marks the 40th anniversary of the Railway Heritage Trust, which organised it.

The Railway Heritage Trust’s work has been a crucial input since 1985.

They have awarded £70 million over 2,000 projects, which have supported the conservation of listed structures and buildings.

Edinburgh Waverley was chosen for the exhibition due to its rich Scottish railway heritage, serving as a gateway to the capital since 1846.

The exhibition is free and open to anyone; it can be found next to the Calton Road exit within the station.

It will be in place until Friday, the 13th June.
