A new virtual work experience course has been launched by Avanti West Coast and Springpod.

The online programme is open to anyone aged 13 and over and aims to highlight what it is like to work for Avanti West Coast.

The course can be completed at any pace, and when completed, they will receive a certificate that can be used when applying for future education opportunities.

Avanti says that this is part of their commitment to encouraging young people to start a career in rail.

“Young people are the future of our industry. With this course we want to inspire the next generation of expert engineers, customer experience leaders and innovative office workers that are passionate about rail.

“We are continuously committed to work with our partners to create opportunities that support young people in shaping their future careers, and Springpod enables us to reach a wider audience.”

Jo MacPhail, People Director at Avanti West Coast
