To help more people get into maintenance roles, Network Rail has launched a new recruitment drive.

They are highlighting the entry-level positions open to candidates, including Operative and Technician.

Maintenance specialists are essential for a reliable network, as they make sure tracks and surrounding rail infrastructure are in good working order and carry out diagnostic work.

The recruitment drive is running as part of the network’s wider celebrations for Railway 200.

Darren Roberts is involved in these vital maintenance roles and is encouraging more people to get involved.

To find out more about the recruitment drive and roles available, you can head to Network Rail’s website.

“Growing up I was active all the time and that passion was the driving force that put me where I am today. The type of work we do is very hands on and dynamic and can include anything from vegetation management to level crossing maintenance. No two days are the same and with the right attitude you can really grow with the job.”
