Southeastern’s passengers can now enjoy cleaner and more comfortable stations, thanks to the operator’s £9.2 million station improvement programme.
They have been upgrading stations across East Sussex, Kent and South East London.
This has included completing repairs, new paint and lighting, deep cleaning, and installing shelters, signage and improving accessibility.
They have deep-cleaned over 130 stations, and stations such as Canterbury West and Tunbridge Wells have seen repairs and new paint.
The accessibility upgrades have been completed as part of their wider efforts to make stations fit the ‘Access for All’ scheme.

Southeastern has invested £400,000 in new toilet facilities, £375,000 in new seating, £862,000 in waiting facilities, and £366,000 in its major refurbishment of Kearsney and Shepherds Well.
“We know that stations are the gateway to the railway, and we want them to be welcoming, clean and accessible for everyone.
“We’re committed to making journeys better for all our passengers, and we know that even small changes like a fresh coat of paint or a new shelter can make a big difference.
“We are continuing to invest in our stations to create places that passengers and local residents can take pride in.”
South Eastern Railway’s Passenger Services Director David Wornham
