26 railway stations have now been fitted with accessible, life-saving defibrillators, thanks to Trenitalia c2c.

The installation of this life-saving equipment is part of a bigger route-wide upgrade project by the rail operator.

To mark the installation, c2c created a short film:

The defibrillator units will be available to colleagues and local communities to access 24 hours a day at c2c stations.

This equipment is essential for those experiencing cardiac arrest, it can help to restart a person’s heart while awaiting emergency services.

The defibrillators come with easy instructions and are easy to use.

c2c is committed to contributing to their local communities’ health and well-being.

Those who find themselves needing to find a defibrillator can search on the British Heart Foundation website.

c2c has also installed other life-saving equipment in the form of Bleed Kits, which are currently at seven locations. These kits help members of the public and professionals reduce serious bleeding.

“I am pleased to be able to help raise awareness of the fact that there is a potentially life-saving defibrillator at each of c2c’s stations.

“There are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year and currently less than one in 10 survive. It is great to see our local railway taking steps to protect our community in this way and I would urge everyone to take a moment to find out where the defibrillator is at their local c2c station.”

Margaret Mullane, MP for Dagenham and Rainham
