The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is celebrating 150 years since the first goods train ran on the line. The first train ran on the 24th May 1875.

To celebrate, there will be a special train running and a guided walk.

The celebrations begin at 10:50 am, departing from Ravenglass, heading to .

There will be characters along the line telling tales of the fascinating history, while highlighting points of interest.

Once visitors have arrived, there will be a guided walk of the ‘old line’, a 3 ft track bed, which leads to Boot.

Visitors will be able to bring a packed lunch or purchase items at the Dalegarth cafe.

The train will return to Ravenglass at 14:30 pm, taking around 40 minutes.

Tickets cost £30 per adult, which includes the journey on the 7-mile line, access to the guided walk and admission to the .
