The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is celebrating 150 years since the first goods train ran on the line. The first train ran on the 24th May 1875.
To celebrate, there will be a special train running and a guided walk.
The celebrations begin at 10:50 am, departing from Ravenglass, heading to Dalegarth.
There will be characters along the line telling tales of the fascinating history, while highlighting points of interest.

Once visitors have arrived, there will be a guided walk of the ‘old line’, a 3 ft track bed, which leads to Boot.
Visitors will be able to bring a packed lunch or purchase items at the Dalegarth cafe.
The train will return to Ravenglass at 14:30 pm, taking around 40 minutes.
Tickets cost £30 per adult, which includes the journey on the 7-mile line, access to the guided walk and admission to the Ravenglass Railway Museum.
Further information and booking can be found on their website.

I presume that this commeroration train will run this coming Sat 24 May , though the article neglects to mention this, talking only about the train that ran in 1875.
