To raise money for charity, a group of Avanti West Coast employees completed a walking challenge across the Yorkshire Dales.

Lauren Plan, Senior Research Executive, Amy Moore, HR Admin Team Lead, Margaret Dzikiti, IT Project Manager, and Paul Mills, Senior IT Project Manager, embarked on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The Avanti staff, along with others from West Coast Partnership Development, completed the 24-mile trek in 13 hours. Beginning and ending in Horton-on-Ribblesdale, the group climbed Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Inglebrough.

For the challenge, around 70 walkers took part, raising money for the Railway Children, which is a charity that helps young people experiencing homelessness.

The group has raised over £2000 for the charity so far, with donations still open online.

“After completing the National Three Peaks by Rail challenge last year and enjoying it so much, I was eager to complete another challenge that pushed me physically.

“I am lucky enough to have enlisted the help of a local pub, who are hosting a dedicated night to support my walk and help raise money for the fantastic Railway Children charity and the incredible work they do.”

Paul Mills, Senior IT Project Manager, Avanti West Coast
