A new partnership between Capital City College and Network Rail means more young people can become involved in the rail industry.
The Network Rail Academy offers pre-apprenticeship programmes for those aged 16-19.
The apprenticeships help young people gain training and skills which will help them enter roles in railways.
The industry employs over 100,000 people, significantly contributing to the job market. In just the last year, it has generated £26 billion towards social, environmental, and economic benefits.
More young people will be able to access courses which provide the skills to enter into railway careers. They offer apprenticeship courses such as rail engineering technician and rail infrastructure operator, both at level 3.
Learners can enrol can work towards engineering qualifications at either level 1, 2, or 3 and will receive mentoring from Network Rail colleagues.
They will be able to see first-hand how the network operates, through visiting important locations, engaging with suppliers and exploring job roles.
These apprenticeships help secure the future of the rail industry, ensuring that skills are passed down to a new generation.
