Ahead of planned work, East Midlands Railway is reminding customers of the changes to services resulting in rail replacement services.
For a nearly £1 million investment by Network Rail, four level crossings are being upgraded in Lincolnshire.
The work will begin on the 31st May until the 8th June and will include Holton le Moor, Brigg, Butterswood, and Little London. Road users should also be aware of these upgrades as they may need to alter routes.
In order for the upgrades to be carried out safely, buses will need to replace trains between Cleethorpes and Banetby.
Service alterations are as follows:
- Leicester – Grimsby/Cleethorpes services will terminate at Lincoln, and rail replacement buses will take those going beyond Lincoln.
- Trains will not operate between Cleethorpes and Barton-upon-Humber. A replacement bus service will serve all stations along this route.
Customers are advised to check before they travel online and allow extra time.
“We appreciate that changes to journeys can be inconvenient, and we’re working closely with Network Rail to keep customers moving whilst these level crossing upgrades are taking place. These improvements are vital for enhancing safety and reliability across the network.
“We recommend that customers travelling during this time check in advance and allow extra time to complete their journey.”
“We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while these essential upgrades are completed.”
Philippa Cresswell, Customer Experience Director at East Midlands Railway,
