Commencing on the 18th May, Greater Anglia are increasing seating in services ahead of summer.
To meet the demand of increasing passenger numbers, the timetable will be improved during the weekdays.
Trains will increase from 5 carriages to 10 on the following services:
- 06.05 Clacton-on-Sea to London Liverpool Street
- 07.46 Witham to London Liverpool Street
- 16.32 London Liverpool Street to Colchester Town
- 18.07 London Liverpool Street to Ely
- 23.02 London Liverpool Street to Ipswich
- 23.48 London Liverpool Street to Colchester
Romford will see an alteration in trains, seeing services between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria, rather than between London Liverpool Street and Colchester Town.

Despite this service alteration, the frequency of trains will remain the same:
- The xx:50 London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria service will call at Romford at xx:07
- The xx:51 Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street service will call at Romford at xx:33
Alongside this, the usual additional summer services will run between Ipswich and Peterborough on Sundays (18th May – 14th September), Norwich and Great Yarmouth on Saturdays (24th May – 13th September) and Norwich and Great Yarmouth on Mondays and Fridays (21st July – 5th September).
With Greater Anglia’s passenger demand ever increasing, they hope that these alterations will make rail travel more appealing.

Further information on the timetables can be found on Greater Anglia’s website or Stansted Express’s website.
“We are pleased to be making further timetable improvements in our May timetable change, including adding extra capacity for some services and re-introducing our summer season trains, benefitting existing passengers and encouraging even more customers to take the train.”
“We will continue to monitor the demand for services and adjust timetables and train capacity accordingly.”
“With new trains operating all our services, we are pleased to be maintaining our consistently high levels of punctuality, for our customers and stakeholders across East Anglia, that have seen us be the best performing train operator in the UK for over two years now.”
Martin Beable, Managing Director, Greater Anglia
