Over the next May bank holiday, most of the East Anglia network will be open for passengers to explore.

Engineering work is being kept to a minimum so services will be undisturbed along the mainline for trains running between and Cambridge, and London and Chelmsford, Colchester and Norwich.

A small number of services may be affected during early morning and late night, while some engineering work is carried out.

Those wanting to travel any any early or late trains should check before they travel to ensure they can get to their desired location.

Some of the engineering work being carried out in the London area between the 24th to 26th May includes replacing some of the worn-out track and sleepers between Stratford and Homerton.

Between Stratford and , there will be no Greater Anglia services and services from Bishops Stortford and to Stratford will be diverted to London Liverpool Street. There will also be no services between Stratford and .

Within the Cambridgeshire area, work will be carried out in the late evening on the same dates, between March station and Peterborough.

Some rail replacement services will be running to connect services that are disrupted.

Passengers are reminded to check before they travel online on National Rail’s website.

Our engineering work programme is usually focused on major bank holidays when fewer people travel to minimise disruption to passenger services, but sometimes we get a bank holiday when we can keep engineering work to a minimum.

“This not only benefits our passengers, but also the communities we serve by providing a train service that encourages travel and tourism on these long and hopefully sunny weekends.

“We have some limited engineering work happening but I hope people will take advantage of our network being mostly open this bank holiday.”
