To help promote rail travel on Greater Anglia, the East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership (CRP) organised a beach day for dogs.
On the 29th April, the special ‘Beach Bark’ train ran from Ipswich to Felixstowe.
Tickets were priced at £5 so that dogs and their owners could enjoy a fun trip to the beach.
13 dogs climbed aboard, who all received a goodie bag from Spectrum Brands.
Dogs travel free on trains and can still go out and explore numerous walks along the East Suffolk line.
Human passengers can take advantage of the ranger ticket to get them to the beach and many other walks.
“Most people don’t realise that dogs travel for free on trains, so we organised the ‘Beach Bark’ to highlight the opportunities for getting out and exploring with your four legged friends.
“There are so many wonderful walks that start and end at rail stations on the East Suffolk Lines between Ipswich and Lowestoft and Felixstowe that are perfect for discovering somewhere new.”
East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership Officer, Thalia Woodgate
