Alstom has announced its UK and Ireland Community Project Fund recipients.
Twelve community-led projects and charities will share £125,000 to use on numerous projects, including elderly welfare and youth mental health.
The project fund aims to improve social and environmental value in local communities where the company operates.

Alstom staff are encouraged to nominate and work with good causes to complete an application of a project. All applications are then reviewed against a criteria; if successful, the staff will stay on to support the delivery of the project.
Included in the 12 are:
- Baton of Hope – A suicide awareness and prevention initiative.
- Now Group – A job coach to provide training and supporting training of those with disabilities at Loaf Catering & Cafe.
- Back Up – Supporting those with recent spinal cord injuries to navigate around independently.

- Meynell Langley Hall – Increasing outdoor learning within STEM topics for all schools.

“Our Community Project Fund was established in 2022 to financially support charity and community group projects with an annual funding cycle, plus encourage employee volunteer support. Since then, we have supported 32 different projects with a total value of over £435,000, benefitting over 20,000 community members local to our 37 sites across the UK and Ireland,”
“What makes the Community Project Fund so special is that our colleagues are involved every step of the way, championing causes they care about and supporting delivery on the ground. It’s a brilliant example of how our people and our purpose come together to deliver positive change within the communities we serve.”
Rebecca Taylor, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Alstom UK and Ireland
