A £7.9 million investment to transform Harlington station is set to begin next week.
The station’s current footbridge is decades old and is set to be replaced with a brand new bridge, which is designed to last for 120 years.
During the bridge upgrade, Network Rail will be working on renewals of surfaces and tactile pavings on Platforms 2 and 3.
A few other upgrades will go on amongst these, ensuring safety and reliability for passengers.
Starting on the 12th May, the work is scheduled to take place mainly within daytime hours. However, some nighttime working will be necessary, when no trains are running, in June.

The work is set to be completed in spring 2026 and should be more cost-effective and efficient for maintenance in the long run.
To allow for construction facilities, the lower section of Harlington station’s car park will be closed. Passengers are advised to use alternative parking at Leagrave or Luton stations.
“This significant investment will provide passengers with a modern, reliable footbridge that will serve the community for more than a century.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause to passengers’ journeys and are grateful for their patience while this essential upgrade takes place.”
Shak Munshi, project manager for Network Rail
