TransPennine Express (TPE) is giving away Easter Eggs at some stations across its network.

Members of staff will greet passengers on TransPennine Express trains at selected stations and hand out specially designed TPE-branded boxes of Easter Eggs, with each box containing a handful of small chocolate eggs to brighten customers’ journeys.

Customers should also look carefully when they open the boxes, as some of them will also have an extra surprise.

Inside 20 of the Easter Egg boxes, a golden TransPennine Express-branded egg will be hidden together with a prize card that will offer the lucky holders the chance to win other rewards, including first-class or standard return travel tickets, and £10 or £20 TransPennine Express vouchers.

Stations taking part in the Easter Eggs giveaway include , Dewsbury, Grimsby, Huddersfield, Hull, Malton, , Middlesbrough, , Scarborough, Scunthorpe, , and .

TransPennine Express is running the Easter Eggs giveaway as part of its policy of celebrating special moments with its customers and creating memorable experiences for them across its network.

The company has also added a note of caution for customers travelling over the Easter bank holiday weekend as engineering works are taking place at several places across its network. Anyone intending to travel this weekend should check their journey plans beforehand at tpexpress.co.uk/travel-updates/spring-travel.

Among other promotions run by TransPennine Express was one Christmas 2023 when the operator gave away hundreds of specially designed Christmas cards, and in January last year when it offered one million tickets for £1.

“We know many of our customers will be travelling to see family and friends over the Easter half-term, and we wanted to do something special to make those journeys even more enjoyable. Whether it’s a small chocolate treat or the excitement of discovering a golden egg, this giveaway is all about sharing a little joy with our customers.”
