ScotRail will be implementing its well-established travel arrangements for this weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The first semi-final is on Saturday, 19th April between Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen with a 12.30 pm kick-off, and the second final is on Sunday, 20th April between St Johnstone and Celtic with a 3 pm kick-off.
Before and after both matches, ScotRail will run extra trains and add extra seats to services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida to help supporters travel to and from the games.
On Saturday, for the match between Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian supporters should travel to Mount Florida and queue on the carriage driveway on Hope Street, and Aberdeen supporters travel to Kings Park and queue on the main concourse at Glasgow Central.
On Sunday, Celtic and St Johnstone supporters should use Mount Florida station for travel to and from Hampden Park. Before the match, a queuing system will be in place at Glasgow Central, and after the match at Mount Florida station.
Supporters are encouraged to purchase their return train tickets in advance as mTickets on the ScotRail app. This will avoid the need to queue on the day, and by purchasing mTickets through the app means they can be bought from the comfort of home or on the way to the station, and be instantly available on mobile devices.
To help make supporters’ journeys easier, extra ScotRail staff will be available. ScotRail is also reiterating its policy of no carrying or consumption of alcohol on ScotRail trains and in ScotRail stations.
The travel arrangements in place are similar to other major matches at Hampden Park, such as last year’s semi-finals between Aberdeen and Celtic and Rangers and Hearts, and the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers
“ScotRail is looking forward to helping fans travel to Hampden to cheer on their side in the men’s Scottish Cup semi-finals. We’ll be doing all we can to help you travel to the game as hassle-free as possible, which includes more seats and services to and from Mount Florida. Queuing systems will be in place before and after the matches, so please make sure you know where to go, and our staff will also be on hand to direct you.”
