Passengers travelling first class with TransPennine Express (TPE) can now choose from a more varied menu based on its longer-distance services.
With first-class dining options available on TPE services from Liverpool or Manchester to Edinburgh or Glasgow, and the new coast-to-coast route from Liverpool to Newcastle, the seasonal onboard menu features new additions such as chicken and leek pie, an harissa vegetable stew and a Scottish smoked salmon penne pasta.

TPE has also teamed up once more with Carlisle-based company Pie Demand, to produce a sausage roll chorizo.
This follows on from the success of the caramelised onion sausage rolls which were sold to just under 7,500 passengers on board its trains last year.

The menu also features a range of wines from The Copper Crew, including a Rosato rosé, a fizzy Bianco Spritz, an Italian Fiano white, and a smooth Negroamaro red wine.
A new addition to the beer section of the menu is a can of zesty Lancashire Supernova beer, brewed exclusively for TransPennine Express by the Lancashire Brewery. The tin the beer is served in was illustrated by TPE’s own customer relations specialist Lucy Richards who has a master’s degree in illustration.

“We’re incredibly proud to be bringing even more locally sourced, high-quality food and drink onboard for our customers to enjoy.
Whether it’s a can of Lancaster Supernova or a chorizo sausage roll, our new menu is all about delivering an experience that celebrates the communities we serve and makes every journey something to look forward to.”
