The in will host its fourth model railway show on Saturday, May 10th, and Sunday, May 11th.

Open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, the event will take place at station and in the locomotive shed. It will be open on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Attendees can look forward to a variety of layouts representing different eras of railway history, featuring a range of gauges from N to O gauge.

Trade stands will be in attendance along with stands offering advice with models, weathering & scenery demonstrations.

No. 47714’s new livery will be unveiled inside the Leeming Bar shed. Since arriving at the railway in the autumn of last year, the locomotive has received bodywork repairs before being painted into its new livery.

Members who took part in the repairs and re-painting of 47714 will also be on hand to talk about the work involved and drum up support for new members to join the railways’ diesel team.

Over the course of the two-day event, four of the line’s heritage diesel locomotives will be in operation, offering rides along the line between Scruton and .

These are D9513, D9523, 03144 and 37250.

Food and drinks will also be on offer from the Buffet Car at Lemming Bar and at Bedale and Leyburn stations.

People in period costumes from the early 1900s will lead free guided tours of both Leeming Bar and Scruton stations, offering insight into the line’s history and its agricultural past.

Tickets can be bought separately for those who just want to attend the Model Show or for those who only want to ride on the railway. Tickets for those just attending the show are £6 per adult, with children under 16 gaining free entry.

For those intending to travel on the service trains, an unlimited travel day rover ticket costs £25 with children under 16 costing £1. Other ticket options, including singles and returns, are also available. Tickets can be bought through the Wensleydale Railway website or at the door.

“This is the 4th year that we have hosted our model railway show at Leeming Bar. We will have 10 layouts on display and a selection of trade stands and model-making demonstrations in attendance. Railway enthusiasts can also enjoy traveling behind some of our heritage diesel fleet over the weekend. Entrance to the model railway show is free for children aged 3 to 15, and they can travel on our trains for only £1 with our ‘kids-for-a-quid’ travel promotion.
